Does this sound familiar?

  • • Your dog pulls so hard that walks leave your shoulder, back or wrist sore.
  • • Your dog jumps or lunges when you pass neighbors, friends or other dogs.
  • • You have tried books and online videos, and the advice keeps contradicting itself.
  • • You would like to walk through town feeling calm, not embarrassed.

Leash pulling is one of the most common problems we fix, and it works for any owner, including people who want a gentler, more technique-based approach to handling a strong dog. We come to you, and we coach you, because the skills only last if you have them too.

How it works

1

Free evaluation (new clients)

We watch you and your dog on a real walk, see what is causing the pulling, and talk through your goals and any physical limits.

2

Hands-on coaching

We teach you how to hold the leash, where to stand, and how to communicate, so you stay in control without a tug-of-war.

3

Practice where you actually walk

Sessions happen on your street, around your neighbors, and wherever your dog gets excited, not in a quiet training room.

4

Written homework

Simple steps to practice between sessions, easy to follow and to come back to.

Leash manners are covered in our training packages. See current pricing on the services page.

Leash training questions

How do I stop my dog from pulling on the leash?

Teach your dog what you want instead of fighting what they do. Yes K9 coaches you in your own neighborhood on leash handling, positioning and clear communication. Most dogs show meaningful improvement within 2 to 3 sessions when the owner practices consistently.

Can you help if I'm worried about my own strength or balance?

Yes. We coach you on technique and body position so you are not relying on strength. Tell us about any physical limits at your free evaluation and we will build the plan around them.

Will my dog stop jumping on neighbors and friends?

Jumping and over-excitement are common reasons owners call us. We practice greetings with real people and real distractions, and we coach you on what to do in the moment. Results depend on the dog and consistent practice, so we cannot guarantee specific outcomes.

What does leash training cost?
