Why In-Home Training Works Better
Your dog learns best in the environment where they struggle most. That's why we bring training directly to your home in Sanford.
In-home sessions mean:
- •Your dog trains in familiar surroundings (less stress, better focus)
- •We address real-world distractions (doorbell, visitors, other dogs)
- •You learn alongside your dog (not just watching from the sidelines)
- •We build structure that lasts beyond our sessions
We serve Sanford, Tramway, Broadway, and surrounding areas with flexible scheduling that fits your lifestyle.
Foundation Obedience Training
A solid foundation changes everything. Our basic obedience program teaches:
- • Sit, down, stay, place, and reliable recall
- • Loose leash walking (no more pulling)
- • Door manners and impulse control
- • Handler responsiveness in real-world scenarios
Most dogs see measurable improvement within 3-5 sessions.
Behavior Modification
If your dog struggles with fear, reactivity, aggression, or anxiety, we don't just manage the problem—we address the root cause. Our behavior modification program includes:
- • Structured desensitization and counter-conditioning
- • Environmental management strategies
- • Handler coaching to prevent setbacks
- • Progress tracking and milestone-based advancement
This isn't quick-fix training. It's real change. Most behavioral cases require 8+ sessions, and we're transparent about timelines and realistic outcomes from day one.
Start Your Puppy Right
The first few months matter. Our puppy program focuses on:
- • Early socialization and confidence building
- • Bite inhibition and appropriate play
- • Housebreaking and crate training
- • Foundation obedience (sit, down, stay)
- • Preventing common puppy problems before they start
Puppies learn fast. We help you capitalize on that window to build a well-mannered adult dog.
Stop the Pulling—Enjoy Your Walks
Leash pulling is one of the most common complaints we hear from Sanford dog owners. It's also one of the most fixable problems. Our loose leash walking program teaches:
- • Proper leash handling and positioning
- • Reward-based motivation to stay close
- • Consistency techniques you can use every day
- • Real-world practice in your neighborhood
Most dogs show dramatic improvement within 2-3 sessions. We often add this to any training package as a focused add-on.
Does Your Dog…
Pull constantly on the leash?
Bark excessively at visitors or outside?
Ignore your commands when distracted?
Jump on people or furniture?
Show fear or aggression toward other dogs?
Have accidents in the house despite being housetrained?
If you answered yes to any of these, you're not alone. These are the exact problems we solve every week with Sanford dog owners.
The good news? They're all fixable with the right approach.
Let's fix this. Schedule your free evaluation and see what's possible.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does training take?
It depends on the issue. Basic obedience typically takes 4-5 sessions. Behavioral modification can take 8-12 sessions. We're transparent about timelines from day one. Some owners see results in 2-3 sessions; others need longer. We adjust based on your dog's progress.
Do I have to be present during training?
Yes. You're part of the training. Your dog learns from us, but you learn from us too. The goal is for you to manage your dog's behavior after we're done. If you're not involved, the training won't stick.
What if my dog doesn't respond to training?
Most dogs respond well to structured training. If a dog isn't responding, it usually means we need to adjust our approach, not that the dog is 'untrainable.' We'll work with you to find what motivates your dog and modify the program accordingly.
Do you use punishment or harsh methods?
We believe in using the right tool for the right problem — not the harshest tool, and not a one-size-fits-all approach. When corrections are needed, we use them in a way that communicates clearly to the dog, much like how dogs naturally correct each other. We also use reward-based methods — praise, food, and drive — because both sides of the equation matter. A skilled trainer understands all four quadrants of learning: Positive Reinforcement, Negative Reinforcement, Positive Punishment, and Negative Punishment. Knowing when and how to use each is what separates real training from just handing out treats. We respect that some clients have strong feelings about certain tools, and we'll always work with you — but our first obligation is to the dog. Every case is different, and that's exactly why education and experience matter.
Can you train aggressive dogs?
Yes. Reactivity, fear-based aggression, and resource guarding are cases we work with regularly. Severe aggression requires a thorough assessment before we build a plan — but we will always make the attempt, with the dog's best interest guiding every decision. We'll be straight with you about what's manageable quickly and what will take more time and consistency. Safety is always the first priority. That said, we have yet to meet a dog we wouldn't work with.
What's the difference between your packages?
Our Foundations package ($250, 5 sessions; the initial evaluation is free and separate) covers basic obedience. Our Behavior Modification package (8 sessions) is for serious behavioral issues: $675 paid upfront, or $85 per session ($680 total) if you pay as you go. The initial evaluation is free. We also offer hourly training ($75/hr) if you prefer pay-as-you-go. We'll recommend the right fit during your evaluation.
Do you offer group classes?
Not yet. We're currently focused on in-home, one-on-one training where we can customize to your dog's specific needs. Group classes are planned for our future facility. For now, private training is where we deliver the best results.
